Graduation Requirements

The Class of 2018 and beyond will graduate under House Bill 5's Foundation + Endorsement + Distinguished Level of Achievement Plan, AISD's prescribed graduation plan. Students must successfully complete all of the required courses, fulfill the requirements for an endorsement, and pass five EOC exams.
 
AISD Prescribed Graduation Plan- 26 Credits
-4 English Credits
     -English I, English II, English III, and English IV
-4 Math Credits
     -Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Adv. Math
-4 Science Credits
     -Biology, IPC or Chemistry, 2 Adv. Sciences
-4 Social Studies Credits
     -World Geography, World History, US History, Government (0.5), and Economics (0.5)
-2 Credits of a Language Other Than English
     *Computer Science I & II may fulfill the LOTE requirement for high school graduation; however, many colleges will not accept it for admissions.
-1 Fine Art Credit
-1 PE Credit
-0.5 Health Credit
-5.5 Elective Credits (Includes 4 Endorsement Courses)
 
Students must choose and meet the requirements for at least one endorsement area:
     -Arts & Humanities
     -Business & Industry
     -Public Service
     -STEM
     -Multidisciplinary

*Endorsements are declared via the student cloud.
 
End-of-Course Exams
Students must pass five end-of-course exams:
     -English I 9th
     -Algebra I 9th
     -Biology 9th
     -English II 10th
     -US History 11th
