As the district’s 2015-2020 strategic plan comes to a close, we are currently in the process of developing a new strategic plan for 2020-2025. The Board of Trustees is working on the strategic plan framework – the vision, mission, values, goals, and priorities – and is expected to be completed by April. During this same timeframe, the Board is also working on the strategic plan scorecard – a balanced set of district performance indicators and targets.
A Strategic Plan Advisory Committee (SPAC) is now being formed to bridge the Board’s high-level strategic direction to a detailed action plan to be developed by the Superintendent. Namely, the SPAC will review data and input, assess needs, and develop a focused number of strategies, under which the administration will develop a number of detailed action steps. The SPAC will meet from late March to mid-May. We encourage parents, teachers, and students to apply to serve on the SPAC – the application form is available in English and Spanish at https://www.austinisd.org/advisory-bodies.
The strategic plan framework, scorecard, and strategies will be in place to provide guidance to 2020-2021 school year budgeting and campus plans. During the fall, the administration will develop the detailed action plan to guide specific work of the district. Also during the fall, the administration will develop a regular, ongoing schedule of district and campus activities that will align with the strategic plan.
The Google Form application is due on May 19th and applicants will be notified by email if they made the team (or not) on May 27th.
