Class of 2024 Summer Prep Information

Students & Parents of the Class of 2024,

Welcome to Bowie High School, Bulldogs! In the weeks to come you will be receiving
information about the launch of the new school year but we appreciate your patience with us in
advance as we are still awaiting important district decisions to inform our campus-specific plans.

DAWG TRACKS - To prepare students for the rigors of high school, our amazing Bowie
teachers have created some BLEND modules for ALL students to complete before the first day
of school (module completion is not mandatory but is highly encouraged). Rising freshmen
should add themselves to these "Dawg Tracks" courses in BLEND using the hyperlinks in
the flyer linked HERE (once students self-enroll in the courses, parents will be able to view the
materials, too). NOTE: You will also see a reference in the flyer to the BLEND Bowie High
Campus Community Course, but because of some technology delays, rising freshmen and their
parents will not be able to access this particular BLEND course until sometime between August
8-10. Sorry for the inconvenience -- this will not interfere with student access to the Dawg
Tracks modules.

To help students with the Dawg Tracks activities, teachers are currently hosting virtual office
hours and tutorials. Using their AISD Google login credentials, rising freshmen can click HERE
to access a document with dates, times, and Zoom links for the virtual sessions.

PRE-AP SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS - For freshmen who are signed-up for Pre-AP courses,
please be mindful that many of these courses require the completion of assignments that will be
turned-in for a grade during the first week of school. Assignments for Pre-AP courses are posted
HERE on the JBHS website. The Pre-AP teachers are currently offering office hours and virtual
tutoring to help students with these assignments. Using their AISD Google login credentials,
rising freshmen can click HERE to access a document with dates, times, and Zoom links to the
virtual sessions.

The Bowie teachers conceptualized the Dawg Tracks activities and Pre-AP summer assignments
as a way to set-up our rising freshmen for optimal success. They are encouraged to take
advantage of these materials and to pop into the virtual tutoring sessions -- the Bowie teachers
are looking forward to meeting their newest students! Again, there are more communications to
come!

Welcome to Bowie!
