Course Selections:
AISD will be mailing Course Selection Verifications during the final week of July. Please watch the mailbox...if you find a mistake on your course selections, please follow the enclosed instructions by the requested date.
Now that the deadline has passed for course selection changes, the master schedule is in the painstaking process of being finalized. Students enrolled in summer classes should get documentation of enrollment to the data processing office as soon as possible. Summer/fall enrollment in a course is the only reason for a course change at this point but documentation must be submitted. Contact Jana Kuhar for info at 414-7314.

INCOMING FRESHMEN (8TH GRADE) INFORMATION

QUESTIONS ABOUT SUMMER SCHOOL AND ECS/DUAL CREDIT?
Upper course contracts should be completed as if your student is not going to attend summer classes. Once your student is enrolled in the summer course(s), s/he should take proof to the counselor so the schedule can be altered. ACC proof can be obtained by the student logging onto the ACC site and printing out the listing of classes s/he is registered for. Be sure to include your Bowie student ID and the Bowie replacement course name/number on this printout.

The Counseling Office is located in the southeast corner of the main administration building. Visitors to the campus must check in with identification at the main office. It is advisable to make an appointment with the counselor, or anyone you wish to see for that matter, to avoid having to wait or come back at a scheduled time. Should you have an emergency, please contact Kathy Ashburn at 414-7318 or the front office at 414-5247.

Bowie students may meet with their counselors before school, during both lunches, or after school.  Ms. Ashburn will schedule a time for their visit and give them the necessary call slip if the student has been unable to meet with the counselor at the above times. If at all possible, we do not want the students to miss class to visit with the counselor.

Parents should call or e-mail their child’s counselor directly if they have a need for a parent conference.  If you attend our evening parent meetings (at least seven this year!), and study the information we send home with your student, you may find that you have all of your questions answered.   The Bowie Counseling Staff would love to hear from you if you have any questions or concerns.
