BEWARE: SCAM FINANCIAL AID LETTER MAY BE ARRIVING IN YOUR MAILBOX
One of our students just showed me a very "official" looking letter that she received in the mail, asking her and her parents to complete a form and to enclose a "refundable" payment to see if she qualifies for federal grants.
Please be aware that these kinds of letters will drift into your hands over the next several months.
All of them will look very official--as if they are from the government or a government agency. Many local colleges and universities have warnings about them on their Financial Aid websites.
NEVER PAY to have a company seek grants for you. That is what the FAFSA is for! If you need to review FAFSA information, please see the FAFSA web link above and the worksheet on your Naviance homepage, and check out the Financial Aid folder in your Documents Library.
