James Bowie High School

"Going where no club has gone before"

We are the Offical James Bowie Sci-fi/Fanasty Club, although we refer to ourselves as the USS Bowie. We are the only Bowie club that deals with Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Anime. Our Sponsor is Mr. Scott Dennis, but every club member refers to him as Admiral. Our ranks are Military Ranks pulled from Star Trek and therefore we refer to our officers as Keptin, XO, Lieutenants, Ensigns and our youngest/newest members are refered to as Redshirts. This year we are planning on changing a few things and making things more offical. We have come with a club "uniform" which is based off of the Original Series Star Trek uniforms. We have also decieded that this year we will be having reading dicussion groups, which will be held in the afternoon.The dates have not yet been decieded on, however we will be starting soon. For more information on the boooks, please refer to the Book Discussion Website. We have been able to create a yahoo group, which is used for the posting of club information, along with this website. If you would like to join, please go to Yahoo click on the group link then, the school organizations and then the USS Bowie. Please make sure to put your name, club nickname, and rank. (ie.
