Basic Photo Techniques
After reading (visiting wepages of each link below) and researching each photography technique you will use Photoshop to create a photomontage of all the types together.
First step is to collect your 16 images (photograph them or get them online). Save them in a new folder "Photo Techniques" with approriate titles according to the technique (example "grouping1", "ruleofthirds1&2",etc). After creating a 800x600 pixel canvas at 72 dpi in Photoshop you will insert 2 images that are examples of each of the 8 compositional techniques into your canvas.
You will turn in 3 final images for grades.
One, is the contact sheet (grid style) with all 16 images with file names. See below for example.
Two, the 800x600 photomontage (collage style) with 16 layered, over-lapping, and rotated images. See below for student example.
Three, your favorite image digitally framed.
Explore not only the techniques but your camera as well. Experiment.
You may shoot your own photos or use photos from various online free photo service sites such as Flickr, pbase, photobucket, worldisround, google
