Web Design


In these days of rapidly advancing technology the best way to learn is at your own pace, proceeding when you understand thoroughly. Through this project you will learn how you learn best. When it comes to learning in the 21st century all you need is the internet and the knowledge of how to locate the information. You will use mainly websites to learn HTML so search away! Research on your own time.

For the web design unit you will be creating three different websites.
All of these will posted live on the Bowie website.

For Website 1 you are to design a site from scratch using "Notepad or Slash Editor". The theme is your "Identity".
You need a minimum of five main pages that represent you (About Me, Portfolio, Family, Friends, Places of Interest, etc).

For Website 2 you will use Macromedia Flash and Fireworks to create a website of "Places Around the World" you would like to visit.
You will take dozens of photographs from satellite and acquire images and information from the net to include.

For Website 3 you will use Dreamweaver to combine your skills and websites to create an single interactive website that shows all you have done this year including sounds, music, animations, and movies.

Criteria Handout

You will be required to know all of the following information below. You will take a quiz a day over the following chapters. Each day read the tutorial, take the quiz, "PrintScreen" of your quiz results, paste them into a PowerPoint presentation, and add a section onto your website based on what you learned in the tutorial. Each day paste your quiz results into a new slide.

After 10 quizzes you will turn it in for a Test grade.

Each day you should READ the tutorial of the day and practice hand coding by switching attriubutes and tags to experiment with the text editor and various design results.
