"WebSite Map"

This three day assignment is simply about you.
Who are you?
How will you show who you are through the wires of the world?
What information about you is most important?
How will you present parts of your personality and identity through graphics of the web?
What will your website look like? How are you going to arrange your site?

This short assignment is a graphical form of organizing your ideas before creating the actual website.
You can use the software "Inspiration" to create a flow chart, web map, or some graphical variation  for getting your ideas organized.

Watch this video because it will describe in detail what the purpose is of this project and how to begin your website structure.

Steps

Brainstorm ideas and visualize the style of your website. What color combinations will you use. How will people know what it's about when visiting. How will people navigate through it. You may want to look at some websites to get ideas before you begin.
You will need at least five pages to your site in addition to the homepage (About Me, Portfolio, Family, Friends, Places, etc) so have at least five links branching off of your self portrait. Each link represents a webpage on your site. You may have dozens.

Open the program called "Inspiration".

In the program, begin with a small picture of yourself. Create five or more various links branching from you.
From each one of those links you should have at least 3 additional links that show what each one represents.

Every link should be labeled and have a picture. Extra points will be awarded for personal photos and designs included.

Keep labeling to a  minimum (one or two words) with maximum contrast unlike these two examples.

Your map should be easy to read and follow.

When finished with the map export it twice (once to your portfolio as a .jpg and to Z: folder for a grade).

Enjoy graphically planning your future website!
